4.0 out of 5 stars Good for a small phone.
This phone is a good Samsung galaxy phone. Not as big as the S21 FE which I like better. Get the one with 256 meg memory because it comes with more system memory (8 vs 6 meg).

3.0 out of 5 stars Not factory unlocked
The phone I received was unlocked but not “factory unlocked”. It is a T-Mobile version of the phone that is “carrier unlocked”. The T-Mobile splash screen comes up on boot-up, meaning it has the T-Mobile version of the Android firmware. However, it does work with my cell phone service provider (AT&T, GSM) so not a deal breaker but it is annoying.

The fingerprint reader in the front screen is pretty bad. It won’t let you scan your thumb diagonally positioned on the screen like when you hold the phone and place your thumb over the reader. It has to be perfectly vertical. That makes no sense. So to unlock I have to use two hand to position my thumb and hold the phone then move the phone back to one hand. Very odd.

I used the iPhone 12 mini for several months and it has has pretty bad battery life compared to many smartphones (due to smaller battery size). This phone is horrible on battery life. If used during the day, it will not last until the end of the day. I must have a charger around. I have all apps optimized, screen set to 60Hz (not the high end 120Hz) and enabled all the other tips found on Youtube. Still barely lasts all day. And it has a 4000mAh battery! This should be an embarrassment for Samsung. My last Samsung Galaxy S8 was AWESOME but alas all the carriers went to Voice over LTG (VoLTE) and that phone did not support it (planned obsolescence in action). Now I have a phone that has worse battery life, worse fingerprint reader and just a marginally better camera. I’m not sure if that is progress.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best overall 5G Galaxy phone
I’m not sure why people are complaining about texting, fingerprint reader with a thick screen protector, or carrier incompatibility issues. I popped in my T-Mobile SIM Card and everything worked instantly. No issues with texting. If you’ve applied a thick tempered glass screen protector, just hit the touch screen sensitivity increase switch in the settings and then set your fingerprint and it works perfectly. This phone is great, and I’m not sure why anyone would pay $150 bucks more to get it from the other seller as this one works in the U.S. This seller shipped it out to me fast and I verified that it was brand new in the box. I upgraded from my Galaxy S7 edge, and everything just works faster and smoother, the camera takes excellent pics and video in daylight and low light conditions. It works just like my edge so everything is very familiar which is what I wanted – nothing revolutionary but reliable and comfortable. No glitches or hiccups when using any app. Battery life is about the same as my edge, which means it lasts at least two days with normal use. I compared this against the S22 line, but with the things I read about the non-ultra versions skimping on features and having worse specs and dismal battery life, it wasn’t worth the extra $700 bucks. The only thing I really don’t like is that Samsung has eliminated the removal micro SD card slot, so managing storage on the cloud is a hassle. I used to love swapping out 256GB cards. I use this a lot to document all my family vacations, and I would hate to run out of battery while out on a long day tour. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you’re looking for a solid, non-gimmicky Galaxy phone that just works and doesn’t feel outdated compared to the new fancy lineup of smartphones coming out on the market (like the Fold 4).

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked for 7 months then cell service died
I was using this phone of xfinity network. It worked great for 7 months and then it ceased to be able to receive service on xfinity network. Might be a carrier issue. Was a pretty decent phone though. 5 stars if the cell service didn’t die.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice phone, but…..
Does not seem to have a Samsung Galaxy operating system. I have a Galaxy S8 and my daughter has a Galaxy S21. The operating system has an upgraded operating system that is very close to my S8. This Galaxy S21 operating system is totally different than either phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, Fast Shipping, Great Phone
If you are looking for a flagship a brand new out of the box phone without the flagship price, then this was the best out there for a bit over $500. I use Verizon as my carrier and I popped in my old phone (Google Pixel 6a, which I hated) into this phone and it works great. No need to call Verizon and all that non-sense.

3.0 out of 5 stars It’s a 2 year old model. Still not convinced it’s new in box.
I needed the S21 for use as a medical device 2 years after it’s release. It was impossible to find in a store, so I came to Amazon. The first one came with a dead spot in the screen about the size of a pencil tip. I had to call Amazon to get it replaced since the app wouldn’t allow the replacement to go through. The replacement has worked well. It did come with a different colored charger than the first, which made me suspicious about whether it’s new in box or refurbished and repackaged.

3.0 out of 5 stars Came with an aftermarket charger with a cable that doesn’t work with it.
The phone was set up for T-Mobile and had to be unlocked in the settings to install the Verizon sim card. Once that was done it seems to be working OK, but the battery appears to drain awfully fast. Will report more on that after I use it a little more.

It was supposed to come with the Samsung wireless charger and instead I got an Energizer charging pad and some third party voltage converter/wall plug and a cable that doesn’t have the correct USB plugs so it is useless. Pisses me off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Had to give it back☹️
More I used the phone, I realized the battery just wasn’t holding it. It also heat up at times when I was just checking email or social media. I couldn’t figure out what Samsung’s behind the scenes processes making this happen. Ultimately I had to give up on this phone and not being able to get used to Samsung oriented apps also pushed my decisions in that direction. I really wanted give Samsung a chance but I just couldn’t do it. Found out the hard way.
But apart from this, call quality and data connection reception was quite good, so at least they got that going for them.
